Wedding planning is a long arduous process, with many details to figure out – i’s to be dotted… t’s to be crossed. On occassion, you’re going to make a blunder.
One bride realized that when texting wedding details to guests, that it’s best to double check the phone number you’re sending messages to.
One wrong number text ended up turning into virtual hilarity that is now taking on a viral twist online.
According to news.com.au, Kristen and Rob – a newlywed couple from the Detroit area sent out a text message to guests inviting them to their house for wedding photos and a barbecue. For better or for worse, one of these text invites ended up in the hands of a complete stranger.
Instead of ignoring the errant text, the unintended recipient decided to reply: “You have the wrong number but me and my boys will be there.”
When Kristen tried to take back the invite, it was a no-go. “We still coming.” said the message.
Now that text conversation and accompanying wedding photo have gone viral a month later, leading to the trending hashtag #westillcoming on Twitter.
Some people are pointing out that the whole story could be a hoax – and it’s very possible, because what self-respecting bride would send out invitations via text message.
Honestly, have you ever been invited to a wedding through a text? Didn’t think so.
Regardless, the story is so fun, we can only hope it’s not fake.
Frankly, those guys are invited to my party whenever they want. #westillcoming
